The Wardrobe’s Best Dressed: twelve ways to occupy my body by sloane angelou

This selection, chosen by guest editor H.V. Cramond, is from twelve ways to occupy my body by sloane angelou (kith books).

the voice remains in the throat
we beg her to let it out
she tells us humans invented soliloquy
then rejected it and us
to speak to one’s self so openly
would be judged
as madness
to let our voice out of her throat in public
would not be considered

so we let her believe
who are we to let others judge us
when we can be the judge.
