The First Year Without You (Winter)

    Lento

the first grace of snow
I move ceremoniously
transparent  starless

among my slow fires

.

new year’s first blizzard
endingsandbeginningsblurred
sky and earth reversed

.

in last summer’s pond
under twelve layers of ice
frog hearts beat    hang on      hang on
