Sundress Academy for the Arts is excited to welcome Amy Ash,  Ciona Rouse, and Richard Peabody for the September installment of our reading series. The reading will take place 2-4 p.m. Sunday, September 17, at the Hexagon Brewing Co., located at 1002 Dutch Valley Dr STE 101, Knoxville, TN 37918. The Sundress Reading Series is free and open to the public.

Amy Ash is the author of The Open Mouth of the Vase, winner of the 2013 Cider Press Review Book Award and the Etchings Press Whirling Prize post-publication award for poetry. She is an assistant professor of English at Indiana State University, where she directs the creative writing program.

Ciona Rouse lives in Nashville, Tennessee. She is the author of the chapbook VANTABLACK (Third Man Books, 2017) and curates many poetry experiences around Nashville.

 

 

 

 

Richard_Peabody.jpgRichard Peabody is the founder and co-editor of Gargoyle Magazine and editor (or co-editor) of 25 anthologies including Mondo Barbie, Conversations with Gore Vidal, and A Different Beat: Writings by Women of the Beat Generation. The author of a novella, three short story collections, and seven poetry books, he is also a native Washingtonian. Peabody taught fiction writing at Johns Hopkins University for 15 years. His most recent book is The Richard Peabody Reader (Alan Squire Publishers, 2015).

 

The Sundress Reading Series is an award-winning literary reading series that is held monthly at 2 p.m. at Hexagon Brewing Co. just outside of downtown Knoxville.
