Knoxville, TN—The fifth episode of Poets in Pajamas, an online reading series presented by Sundress Publications will air on Sunday, December 11, at 7pm EST, featuring Les Kay. Poets in Pajamas is a free online reading series that connects readers and writers around the world. Utilizing the Periscope app, PiP allows for people to participate in a bi-monthly reading series regardless of location (as long as they have internet). Author Sam Slaughter will host.
Les Kay is the author of the full-length collection At Whatever Front (Sundress Publications 2016) and the chapbooks Badass (Lucky Bastard Press 2015) and The Bureau (Sundress Publications 2015), as well as a co-author of the collaborative chapbook, Heart Radicals (ELJ Publications 2016). His poems have appeared widely in journals such as Redactions, PANK, and Southern Humanities Review. A former Adjunct Assistant Professor of English, he now lives and works in Cincinnati as a freelance editor and writer. He also volunteers as an Associate Editor for Stirring: A Literary Collection and serves as the Editor of Chapbook Review. Learn more at his website: http://www.leskay.com.
Sam Slaughter is a spirits writer for The Manual living in the New York City area. His work has or will appear in Bloomberg, InsideHook, Thirsty, and Tales of the Cocktail. The selected poet will read for 15 minutes, with an addition 10-15 minutes of questions from the audience. The readings will occur on Sundays at 7PM EST, twice per month.
Sundress Publications is a (mostly) woman-run, woman-friendly non-profit publication group founded in 2000 that as well as publishes chapbooks and full-length collections and hosts a variety of online journals anthologies including Best of the Net Anthology, and Stirring: A Literary Collection.
