Ah, the bookshelf. A writer’s most prized possession. This week Sundress Publications is showing our bookshelf love by inviting you all to snoop around our bookshelves and learn the back story on all the odds and ends that make our shelves, well, uniquely ours.
“I have a couple different banks of high shelves in my apartment, but this one is the one dedicated to poetry and filled with an equal amount of full-length collections and chapbooks. It’s the first set I see when I come into the apartment and the last one I see when I leave, so it always makes me happy. There’s also a good selection of anthologies and some more book-art oriented pieces I put there for safekeeping. The fiction shelves across the room are chaotic and unruly with books stacked three deep in some places, but I like to keep the poetry ones neat and easily browse-able. I try not to buy other sorts of books since I work in a library and have complete access to books that don’t have to come home with me permanently, but poetry books are my one indulgence…” – Kristy Bowen
