Lambda Literary Residency Fellowship Winners

Sundress Academy for the Arts (SAFTA) is delighted to announce that Meg Day and Erin Jin Mei O’Malley have won the Lambda Literary fellowships for our spring residency period. The Lambda Literary Foundation, an organization striving to preserve the LGBTQ culture by celebrating Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer literature, partnered with SAFTA to sponsor two LGBTQ-identified writers for a week-long residency during the spring of 2018.

 

Screen Shot 2017-10-11 at 2.50.13 PMMeg Day is the 2015-2016 recipient of the Amy Lowell Poetry Travelling Scholarship, a 2013 recipient of an NEA Fellowship in Poetry, and the author of Last Psalm at Sea Level (Barrow Street 2014), winner of the Barrow Street Poetry Prize and the Publishing Triangle’s Audre Lorde Award, and a finalist for the 2016 Kate Tufts Discovery Award from Claremont Graduate University. Day is Assistant Professor of English & Creative Writing at Franklin & Marshall College and lives in Lancaster, PA. www.megday.com

The Sundress Academy for the Arts (SAFTA) is an artists’ residency on a 45-acre farm in Knoxville, Tennessee, that hosts workshops, retreats, and residencies for writers, actors, filmmakers, and visual artists. All are guided by experienced, professional instructors from a variety of creative disciplines who are dedicated to cultivating the arts in East Tennessee.

Applications are now open for the Summer 2018 residency period.
