Paulk+Co and Sundress Academy for the Arts Present First Friday Spooktacular

Knoxville,TN— Sundress Academy for the Arts is excited to announce that they are one of the sponsors for Paulk+Co.’s First Friday Spooktacular. The event, which is also sponsored by Trail of Doom and the Knoxville Horror Fest, features works by Carmen Wolfenberger, Hag Cult , The Creature Seeker and T.A. Noonan. The event is October 3^rd, from 6 p.m. to 10p.m. in the Paulk+Co. gallery at 510 Williams Street in Knoxville. Costumes are strongly encouraged!

In addition to being an artist studio specializing in Concrete, Stone and Metal Fabrications, Paulk+Co is a gallery that showcases local and regional artists.

Eric Brown is The Creature Seeker. Brown is fascinated with circus sideshow attractions, human and animal oddities, and the dark side of fairy tales is easily apparent in his eclectic and eccentric work. Eric creates sculptures and props for film, haunted attractions, and private collections. His work can be seen on The Science Channel’s ODDITIES, and he has sculpted for AMC networks and Activision.

Hag Cult features the art of M. Fersner, who describes herself as an illustrator obsessed with the monsters that make life fun and is known for her Knoxville Horror Fest posters and her vivid and imaginative work inspired by such iconic artists, directors, and writers as Christopher Lee, Ray Bradbury, and Guillermo del Toro. Her work has been shown at the Hero Complex Gallery, the Crazy 4 Cult show, and the Guzu Gallery.

Carmen Wolfenberger is an artist at Trail of Doom, Knoxville’s longest running haunted attraction. Wolfenberger is known for her striking paintings of vintage horror movie characters and Hollywood icons.

T.A. Noonan is a writer, priestess, artist, and all-around woman of action. She is the author of four sparks fall (2013), Dress the Stars (2013), The Bone Folders (2011), Darjeeling (2008), and Petticoat Government (2006). She serves as the Literary Arts Director for Sundress Academy of the Arts and is an Associate Editor of Sundress Publications and the Founding Editor of Flaming Giblet Press. “The Trouble with Correspondence,” her essay on the intersections of witchcraft and body image, was named a Notable Essay in Best American Essays 2011.
